Horror- Thriller – Mystery

Synopsis:

It was almost as if time had not touched the village of Cornwall Coombe. The quiet, peaceful place was straight out of a bygone era, with well-cared-for Colonial houses, a white-steepled church fronting a broad Common. Ned and Beth Constantine chanced upon the hamlet and immediately fell in love with it. This was exactly the haven they dream of. Or so they thought.

For Ned and his family, Cornwall Coombe was to become a place of ultimate horror.

My thoughts:

This was a slow burn that had no real surprising twists or turns, but was well written. And the pacing is great, everything flows from one scene to the next with no real lulls, keeping the story interesting.

Some may not guess the big last twist at the end, but there are enough hints toward it that it is possible to not be surprised by the end reveal(s).

This follows a family that moves to a small isolated community that follows “the old ways.” There are WickerMan and Midsommer vibe to it, so you can get the gist of how the story goes if you know those.

My rating: 4⭐️
