Synopsis:
Kick-Ass:
Dave Lizewski asks himself “How come nobody’s ever become a superhero before?” and makes his teenage superhero daydreams an ass-kicking reality.
Kick-Ass 2 Prelude Hit-Girl:
Mindy McCready tries to settle into life as a regular school-girl, but wants nothing more to be dispensing hot justice to the scum of New York City. Her mother thinks she’s doing her homework, but in reality she’s taken Kick-Ass on as her sidekick and training him up to punch, shoot and stab … just like Daddy would have wanted. And in return, Kick-Ass is helping her learn to survive middle school – without spilling anyone’s blood. But when Kick-Ass gets benched, leaving Mindy to take on the mafia solo, even Hit-Girl may be in over her head. Meanwhile, Red Mist pursues his goal of becoming a super-villain … and faces a final test of his own.
Kick-Ass 2:
Dave Lizewski has taken a HORRIFYING and EXHILARATING plunge. Armed with minimal combat training and a pair of batons, he donned a mask and set out to become a real superhero, Kick-Ass. And he succeeded. Wildly. KICK-ASS and tween black belt HIT-GIRL took on the Mafia — and won. But his arch nemesis Red Mist now thinks superheroes are passe, and has become the world’s most notorious super-villain. His first target? Dave Lizewski’s family.
Kick-Ass 3:
Hit-Girl is in jail, leaving Kick-Ass to lead the superhero team Justice Forever. But superheroes have been outlawed, leaving Kick-Ass and to dodge both cops and some terrifying new foes! For the first time, Kick-Ass begins to doubt. Is he in too deep to get out? Meanwhile, Hit-Girl starts running all the gangs in the joint, and a broken Red Mist gets an education from a terrifying crime boss. But when the new Skull and Bones vigilante team debuts and dissension hits Justice Forever’s ranks, will Kick-Ass be able to fend off a coup?
My thoughts:
This is the story of Dave, who decides he wants to be a superhero and what he does and what happens to him as he goes through with his plans.
I started with the movies with this series. I liked the concept, but the movies—meh.
The novels though, the first one drew me in and I literally went to the library before I finished it and borrowed the rest of the series.
My rating: 4⭐️
