How the Betray a Dragon’s Hero by Cressida Cowell

366 pages. Published by Little, Brown and Company in 2013.

Middle Grade – Fantasy – Adventure

Synopsis:

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is a truly extraordinary Viking hero known throughout Vikingdom as “the Dragon Whisperer”…but it wasn’t always so. Travel back to the days when the mighty warrior was just a boy, the quiet and thoughtful son of the Chief of the Hairy Hooligans. Can Hiccup capture a dragon and train it without being torn limb from limb? Join the adventure as the small boy finds a better way to train his dragon and become a hero!

My thoughts:

This is the second to last book in a fun middle grade series. Most people probably know the broad basis of the book due to the movies—Vikings and dragons living together and following the young Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, next in line for the throne and his dragon Toothless. This series follows them and their band of friends while they go on quests for the lost things so that he can ascend the throne.

What can I say, I enjoyed them enough to read the whole series. (David Tennant does a great job narrating the audiobooks if that’s your pleasure.)

My rating: 3⭐️
